What a nice thing for you to do Ellis. We will treasure your [bowl]. My son, Terry, said, "How did he do that?" I told him only the finest craftsmanship was your speed!

Ellis: Thank you so much for your reply. Now that I have perused your website, I'm even more inspired. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so off to my workshop with fresh ideas.
Thanks again; Al

Dear Mr. Hein, I found the article on your "Inside Out" Turning in my co-workers magazine and was pretty intrigued by it. So I gave it a shot this past weekend... .Many thanks for the idea. I've had a lot of people comment about it (since finishing it tonight!) and they all wonder how I got the inside to look the way it does.

I really like the idea about the bees wax. I hadn't thought about using that as a sealer. It's been years since I'd turned anything on the lathe and thought maybe I was in over my head! I thought I'd really messed it up when I first turned the inside. I had misplaced the article so I was going off of my memory. ...by the time I found the article again, I was already well into the wood and figured I'd ruined it. But, I went ahead and turned it after gluing it and it turned out beautiful! Again, many thanks for a GREAT idea.

Ellis, ... I reached you through your article in Woodworker's Journal. Those vases of yours are beautiful! I especially liked your stretched wire idea for the burned accent line under the lip.
Happy trails... Eldon
